Last weekend was the Family Travel for Real Life (#FT4RL) conference. I live-blogged the entire conference in case you missed it
We had presentations on maximizing low-level hotel destinations, maximizing earning your points through manufactured spending and reselling
Also presentations on travel hacking Disney, family destinations in Asia, and getting the most out of your miles
Here’s what you missed if you weren’t able to attend – look for the next #FT4RL conference in spring
IHG Point Breaks are one of the best travel deals out there
Every few months, they release a list of hotels that are bookable for only 5000 points / night.
The IHG PointBreaks list for November 2015, December 2015 and January 2016 was just released! Here’s a map and sortable table of the 180 IHG PointBreaks hotels
One of the best travel hacking deals out there has been British Airways short-haul flights for only 4500 Avios.
This week, British Airways announced that starting in February 2016, all award flights in North America will be a minimum of 7500 Avios.
For me, I say that British Airways are now “worthless“ (or maybe they’re just worth less?)
Here are the rest of this week’s stories:
- eBay send me (and several other people) a letter saying that we were in violation of their “site interference” policy
- Of course, then eBay can’t seem to make up their mind about what they want me to do….
- Last week I had a… not-so-great experience with Dollar Rent-a-Car DCA.
If you’re still up for more travel reading, here’s last week’s recap: Road tripping in the “age of Instagram” (barf!) and other great travel news
