Southwest is celebrating its 50th birthday on June 18. One of the ways the airline is ringing in a half a century of flying is its “Wanna Get Away Day Sweepstakes.” It’s simple to enter and up to 50 million Rapid Rewards bonus points are available. The sweepstakes runs from June 1- June 18.
How Do I Enter?
The sweepstakes is free and you can enter in 3 simple steps at this link. All you need to do is select “Enter Now” to play and then click on the 3 pieces of luggage that appear. You can play once per day through June 18. To enter you must be a legal resident of the 50 United States and District of Colombia (Alaska is excluded). In addition, you must be 18 years of age or older with a valid email and Rapid Rewards account.
What Can I Win?
The prizes from June 1-17 include bonus points of 50, 100, 250, 500, 1,000 or 50,000. You are not limited to one win, so you can enter every day of the contest period. Southwest is calling June 18 “Wanna Get Away Day” and this is when the prizes get really exciting. Southwest is upping the ante with prizes including a $500 Southwest gift card, a Southwest Promotional Companion Pass + 25,000 Rapid Rewards bonus points or 1,000,000 bonus points. As to be expected, the top prizes are pretty limited. There are lots of chances to win, however, and being that it is easy to enter and free this is certainly worth the shot!

Is this actually working yet? It worked once for me (although I didn’t win anything), and then … nothing. I couldn’t even get the “Play!” button to work, and eventually all I got was an error message. Southwest said they’re “aware of the problem and working on it,” but so far it’s still not working.
