That Thrillist article on Delta lounges is full of inaccuracies.
– Delta removed lounge access for BASIC economy customers, period (except when departing same-day ) for international flights.
– AMEX Platinum cardholders have unlimited access this year; 10 visits/yr next year.
– Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders will get 15 visits next year, not 10. Both cardholder access counts were based on the original announcement that Delta changed a few weeks later.
– The influencer literally states he gets in with his Platinum in the paragraph before it says that Platinum members haven’t had access all year
.
– Mr. Lucas also states that he’s changing his pattern due to Delta overcrowding. One thing the article didn’t mention is that when he travels domestically in the US, he has no access to Delta Skyclubs: DL famously denies foreign elites access to its lounges. He could be changing to AA and UA for his US travel based on the fact that he can get access to their lounges through foreign elite status for US flights.
They should have had you write it, Dan. You know the program better than they do. 🙂
