Terms and Conditions
For full terms visit this link and scroll to the fine print at the bottom of the page. A few caveats that I have highlighted are below.
-Bonus Points do not count toward elite tier qualification.
-Allow six to eight weeks from completion of the stay for Bonus Points to appear in your Hilton Honors account.
-A ‘stay’ is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again
Conclusion
Anytime you can easily earn extra points or miles it makes sense to do it. This is a simple offer to sign up for and if you stay at a Hilton property over the next few months you can maximize your earned points. Make sure to book with a card that gives extra points for hotel stays, or even better one of the Hilton Cards like the American Express Aspire which would earn an additional 14x points for each dollar spent. Check Dan’s review of the Aspire card here.

Good promotion
It looks like 4 consecutive nights only counts as one stay. Also, do nights on points count?
Unfortunately, you are right that consecutive nights count as one stay. However, points on nights still count so that is a plus.
