A few weeks ago, Starwood had a sweepstakes promotion running called “Tap into Luxury” where you could spin a fake wheel twice a day to win different prizes
I dutifully played on both my and my wife’s account for several days with no success. I even wrote a post asking if there had been any winners at all or if this was some sort of scam. I actually got a few comments of people reporting that they had won.
Still, I played without success – even musing if the categories you picked made a difference (as ludicrous as that sounded to me)
Naturally, as soon as I wrote that, I won 500 Starpoints the very next day!!! 🙂
I was checking through my AwardWallet balances this morning, and noticed that my SPG balance had gone up by 500. I logged into my Starwood account, and found:
Wait? US Open? What’s that? A quick Googling around led me to this Flyertalk thread, where an official SPG response was given:
The game Tap Into Luxury was designed as an extension of our US Open activities on the grounds of Arthur Ashe Stadium, but ran beyond just the 2 weeks of the tournament. In short, it was tied to the US Open, so that is why members will see “US Open” on the points post description.
So there you have it! If you won anything in the Tap into Luxury game, make sure to log on to spg.com and see if your points have posted!
