In late 2024, my wife and I attended a show in Lexington. Because the show was later at night, we decided to make an evening out of it, and decided to spend the night there, even though Lexington is only about 90 minutes from our home. After looking at a few hotel options, I decided to book the Residence Inn Lexington North, in Lexington Kentucky. This Residence Inn Lexington North review will give an idea of the different amenities and features of the hotel and hopefully help you decide if you want to stay here if you’re looking for a Lexington Kentucky hotel.
Residence Inn Lexington North location
The Residence Inn Lexington North is located at 1080 Newtown Pike, Lexington, Kentucky, USA, 40511. This is just off of I-75 / I-64 and a few miles north of Downtown Lexington and the University of Kentucky.
This is an older style Residence Inn location, so it is more of a “complex” style, where it is several different buildings, surrounding an open courtyard.
Residence Inn Lexington North cost
I checked the Marriott Bonvoy prices for the night I was looking at, but they were asking 21,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. Instead, I booked my night for $102.91 through the Chase Travel portal. This gave me a cpp value of 0.49 cpp, meaning using points would have been a bad value.

This was even better of an idea because I was using the $50 annual hotel credit from the Chase Sapphire Preferred, meaning that my net cost was only $52.91.

Residence Inn Lexington North review – room
I reserved a 1 Queen bed suite, which is what I got. We were in building 4 in room 412, around to the back of the complex.
When you walk in, the kitchen is to the left
and the living room (including a sofa bed) is straight in front of you
The queen bed is in front of you with a pair of nightstands.
There was also a small bathroom around to the left with a sink and counter
and a small toilet and shower
Residence Inn Lexington North wifi and amenities
Wifi is complimentary in the lobby and in the guest rooms for Marriott members, though you can purchase “premium” wifi for $4.95 / per day, which I did not do. The Residence Inn Lexington North wifi speed was decent and I had no issues using it
There isn’t a separate business center, however there is a small computer and printer area next to the front desk that is available for guests, if you need to print a boarding pass, directions or anything.
This was a handout that the hotel gave to us when we checked in, showing some of the amenities of the hotel.
There is an outdoor pool. It was closed when I was there (late December) – this is a stock photo from Marriott.com
Near the outdoor pool, there is an outdoor courtyard with a grill and a tennis court and basketball court. Again, we did not get any use out of this due to the cold and darkness when we were there, but if it is like other Residence Inns where we have stayed, you can rent sports equipment from the front desk.
There is a small fitness center with the basic equipment inside the main building.
Residence Inn Lexington North hotel review – parking
The Residence Inn Lexington North is complimentary and spacious. Because there are several different buildings in the Residence Inn complex, you will want to check in before you unload your stuff to find out which building you are in. Then you can pull your car around to your building.
Residence Inn Lexington North food
The Residence Inn Lexington North is similar to that of many other Residence Inn hotels in the United States. There was a decent sized breakfast area located in the main building, on the 2nd floor. You could take the stairs located next to the front desk, or a small elevator.
There were eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage and bacon and biscuits on the day that I was there, though I imagine it is switched up each day.
Interestingly, they also had a Japanese breakfast. I had never seen that before but then remembered that there is a big Toyota plant nearby and figured it had to do with that.
There is a small market near the lobby where you can buy various snacks
Of course the prices are outrageous.
The Bottom Line – Residence Inn Lexington North hotel review
Overall this was a decent stay if you are looking for a cheap Lexington hotel. It was very easy to get to from the Interstate (or airport, or Downtown, or UK), and the price was outstanding as well. I thought my stay was good. The Residence Inn Lexington North can definitely be a great option if you’re looking for a cheap Lexington hotel.
