I first wrote about our upcoming Cincinnati miles and points meetup a few weeks ago, but with the date upcoming, I thought I’d give a reminder that the meeting is THIS SATURDAY (October 3rd).
As I wrote before, the miles and points “game” can sometimes feel very solitary. Â Unless you meet someone in line trying to load a Redbird, or maybe in an airport lounge, your social interactions are often behind a computer screen, like on Twitter or Facebook.
I’ve had a lot of fun when I’ve attended conferences such as the Family Travel for Real Life. Â Here’s a shot of an “after party” after the last Family Travel for Real Life conference
Of course, I’m the guy in the back in the white shirt, obliviously checking my phone, so obviously I’m a real social butterfly! 😀
One of the rules of manufactured spending is that “all manufactured spending is local”, meaning what works in one location might not work in another. Â Specifically here in Cincinnati, we have a working “Kate”, many grocery stores that will let you buy Visa gift cards with a credit card and sell you money orders with multiple debit cards. Â Those strategies may not work in other cities.
So I thought I’d try a Cincinnati miles and points meetup!
Cincinnati miles and points meetup dates
The Cincinnati miles and points meetup is this Saturday, October 3rd, at noon.  From what I’ve heard from other miles and points meetup organizers, lunch time on a weekend tends to work out well.  We have about 10+ people or so signed up according to the Evite at http://evite.me/ha2vqmdwmp, so we should have a good time.
I am involved in a Cub Scout campout that weekend, so I’ll be coming straight from there, and so I’ll be dressed in a tan Boy Scout shirt, so I should be easy to spot!! 😀
If you can’t make it – don’t worry – if this one is successful, it won’t be the last Cincinnati miles and points meetup that we hold!
Cincinnati miles and points meetup location
The first Cincinnati miles and points meetup is going to be at the Dewey’s Pizza in Kenwood (off of Exit 11/12 on Interstate 71).  They don’t have a separate meeting room, but I’ll have a table reserved for us
So, if you’re from Cincinnati (or Northern Kentucky, Southeastern Indiana, Dayton, Columbus or anywhere else nearby) and have a hankering to talk about any aspect of miles and points, leave a note in the comments. Â You can also email me at dan at pointswithacrew dot com if you want to get put on my “list” of local folks who are interested in these meetups.
You can manage your attendance at the Evite at http://evite.me/ha2vqmdwmp – hope to see you there!

Anyway someone could take notes for us local folks who can’t make it? Pretty Please !
I’ll probably write something up afterwards, but I can’t promise that it will be exciting or interesting 😛
