Southwest is celebrating its 50th birthday with a great promotion that will last one day only — Friday, June 11. The offer is for 50x Rapid Rewards points on the first $100 of Southwest purchases. You read that right! With a spend of $100, you can effectively earn 5,000 Rapid Rewards points.
How Do I Earn 50x Points on Southwest?
The offer is only good during the the one-day promotional period of 6/11/2021 from 12 AM ET – 11:59 PM E.T. Unfortunately, the total bonus points earned are capped on $100 in total purchases. Qualifying purchases include those made directly with Southwest Airlines, including flight, inflight, Southwest gift card, Rapid Rewards Points Center, and on Southwest Vacations packages. Bonus Points DO count toward the Companion Pass but will not count towards A-List or A-List Preferred qualification.
Am I Eligible?
The offer is available to all Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card holders. To qualify for the bonus offer, the account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. Additional terms and conditions can be found at the following link.
Conclusion
This seems like a pretty worthwhile offer, particularly if you are planning on booking Southwest travel soon. Even if you are not, the purchase of a $100 gift card for future travel would earn you 5,000 Rapid Rewards points to be used at a later date.
