The miles and points “game” can sometimes feel very solitary. Unless you meet someone in line trying to load your Bluebird or Serve (if you even still have one!), or maybe in an airport lounge, your social interactions are often behind a computer screen, like on Twitter or Facebook.
I’ve had a lot of fun when I’ve attended conferences such as the Family Travel for Real Life. Here’s a shot of an “after party” after one of the Family Travel for Real Life conference
Of course, I’m the guy in the back in the white shirt, obliviously checking my phone, so obviously I’m a real social butterfly! 😀
One of the rules of manufactured spending is that “all manufactured spending is local”, meaning what works in one location might not work in another.
I have organized 3 meetups here in Cincinnati, and had a lot of fun. So when folks on the Points With a Crew miles and points Slack channel started talking about organizing a meetup in the Phoenix, Arizona area, I encouraged them to do it and said that I would advertise it here on the blog to let other people know.
Phoenix miles and points meetup date
The next Phoenix miles and points meetup will be Wednesday August 10th, starting at 5:30 pm. If that date doesn’t work for you but you’re interested in attending future meetups, make sure and join our Slack channel or RSVP on the evite. In talking with the meetup organizers, it looks like they have 20-30 people coming, so it should be a good time!
Phoenix miles and points meetup location
The Phoenix miles and points meetup will be at the Postino Higland restaurant. The address is 4821 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale.
Erica is our Phoenix organizer and she has set up an Evite at http://evite.me/j88JAWs24n so you can register if you’re interested in attending! I won’t be able to make it but if you’re in Phoenix or the surrounding area I encourage you to check it out!
If you have any questions, leave them as comments here and the organizers will help you out.
