I’ve written several times over the past few weeks about the IHG Priceless Surprises promotion.
- 100,000 hotel points for a few hours work
- When should I be worried about my 94 envelopes?
- IHG Priceless Surprises fiasco: “Sorry, you didn’t win this time”?!?!?!
- My IHG Priceless Surprises emails have started coming in – including one “You did not win”!?!
Originally intended as a promotion where you could get an entry (worth at least 500 points) every time you stayed at an IHG hotel this quarter, an enterprising person found out that you could also enter in BY MAIL, 94 TIMES!
How to get your 50,000 hotel points
So for the cost of 94 stamps (and envelopes and index cards), which is around $50, and a few hours of time, you are guaranteed to win at least 47,000 IHG points (and likely a bit more than that). For exact details on how to enter, what you need to put on your index card, and where to send it, see my original post – 100,000 hotel points for a few hours work. Thanks to deals like IHG Point Breaks, 50,000 points could be up to 10 free hotel nights (Why do people think free hotel nights are a good idea?)
IMPORTANT NOTE: IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU REGISTER FOR THE PROMOTION ONLINE BEFORE SENDING IN YOUR ENVELOPES!!!!
We set up the minions around the dining room table and knocked it out assembly line style.
My 94 entries have all processed – I won 2,000 points twice, 1,000 points 3 times and the other 89 times were 500 point wins – for a total of 51,500 points. My wife sent her envelopes in at the same time, but for weeks was stuck on only 14 entries. On Monday night, I emailed Hello World (the contest administrator) from the FAQ link on the Priceless Surprises page, and while they didn’t get back to me, last night I noticed that she has many more entries unlocked. She’s currently played 39 times and won 22,000 points.
Postmark date
Technically the Priceless Surprises envelopes need to be postmarked by February 15th, but because the 15th is President’s Day (no mail) and the 14th is Sunday, you really need to postmark them by February 13th (Saturday). So if you haven’t made your entries yet, it’s time to get writing! I would actually take them to the Post Office on Saturday to make sure they get postmarked in time
If you haven’t entered, are you going to? If you have already entered, how much have you won?

Got the last of my emails today. My husband and I each won a little over 60K total. Mostly got 500s…with a couple 1000s and we each got a 5000… didn’t win anything other than the points…
Got 30 emails between yesterday and today which should be the last. 56,500 points total (nothing else). Last batch was 9 days from dropping in mail to getting email.
I got 32,500 points with 47 entries. However all the ones my wife and I sent using a gmail address,
We never receive emails. Strange. That was 50 envelopes wasted.
I registered and mailed all 94 envelopes and NOTHING has happened.
