Yesterday was a raining Sunday in Bay Area. There wasn’t much to do other than watching football all afternoon. Now that we know which two teams are heading to Super Bowl LI in Houston, will you be going there too? If you don’t already have Super Bowl LI tickets, be ready to shelf out some serious cash!

Official Super Bowl LI tickets packages – Wow they are expensive!

Soon after the game was over, I got an email from Ticketmaster. The official Super Bowl LI tickets package directly from NFL is now on sale. These packages offer unique on-location experiences that provide “VIP access to the best parties, hospitality & hotel accommodations. All packages include a pre-game tailgate within the stadium perimeter and appearances by NFL Alumni.” Wow they are expensive! You can find all details here.

Earn 2x points using Citi ThankYou cards.

If you are buying tickets through Ticketmaster or Score Big, be sure to pay with Citi ThankYou cards that earns 2x per dollar spent on entertainment expenses.  The rest of the Super Bowl expenses are also expensive, though those of us in the miles and points worlds still have one way to save… on hotel expenses!
