Need some more Marriott points in your portfolio? Keep reading for 2 ways to snag 100,000 Marriott points!
After everything going on with Marriott and Starwood lately, you’ll probably find yourself in one of two camps:
- I need more points!
- I need a way to burn all of these SPG and Marriott points I have…
Want 100,000 Marriott Points?
If you’re in the first group, I’ve got good news. There are still plenty of ways to earn those hotel points you need! Right now, Chase is offering a 100,000 point welcome offer on the Marriott Premier Plus card. Revamped earlier this month, the card earns 6x Marriott points on Marriott (and SPG) stays, and double points on everything else. For a $95 annual fee you’ll also get a free night (up to 35,000 points) and Silver status with the ability to spend up to Gold Elite status.

100,000 Marriott points will get you 4 nights (and your 5th reward night free) at any of Marriott’s Category 5 hotels. Want to go big? You can book 2 nights at a Tier 3 Ritz Carlton for the same 100,000 points, the choice is yours!
If you need even more Marriott/SPG points, there are quite a few promotions going on:
- Buy SPG points at 35% discount through July 20
- New Marriott Rewards members earn a free night with two paid stays by August 31st.
- Get an extra 3,000 Starwood points for booking a suite through the end of the year.
Again, you can find the Marriott 100,000 point offer and compare it to other hotel cards here. If you’re approved for a card through this link, I may receive a commission.

Thanks for this post! That is a high bonus. Question: I have had a previous Chase Marriott card, but not the “Premier Plus” card. Would I still be eligible for this bonus, assuming I’m under 5/24?
Thanks for reading Jana! As long as it’s been 24 months since your last Marriott Premier card bonus (Chase’s usual rule) you should be good to go!
Can u get this card if you are NOT under the 5/24 rule?
Hey Jeff, according to the a number of datapoints on Reddit, this card is subject to 5/24
I have a regular Marriott Card and received an email about upgrading to the Premier card and I get 20,000 points (the annual fee goes up to $95 but now can get a free night at hotels up to 35,000 points rather than categories 1-5). Is this a good deal ? And does anyone know if they just increase the annual fee only when your year is up or do they charge $95 right away ?
Generally I’m not a big fan of the upgrade offer. I’d cancel the old card (once it’s been 24 months since you got the welcome offer and your a/f is due to hit) and just get the new card after that
So if I took the upgrade and got the 20,000 points am I not entitled to more points after the $5,000 spend? And do I have to wait 90 days before applying for SPG Business Card?
Check the fine print. I believe if you have gotten a bonus on any Marriott card within the past 24 months you won’t be eligible. Check out our post on the new Marriott rules
