The miles and points “game” can sometimes feel very solitary.  Unless you meet someone in line trying to load your Bluebird or Serve (if you even still have one!), or maybe in an airport lounge, your social interactions are often behind a computer screen, like on Twitter or Facebook.

I’ve had a lot of fun when I’ve attended conferences such as the Family Travel for Real Life.  Here’s a shot of an “after party” after one of the Family Travel for Real Life conference

Of course, I’m the guy in the back in the white shirt, obliviously checking my phone, so obviously I’m a real social butterfly! 😀

One of the rules of manufactured spending is that “all manufactured spending is local”, meaning what works in one location might not work in another.

I have organized 3 meetups here in Cincinnati, and had a lot of fun.  So when folks on the Points With a Crew miles and points Slack channel started talking about organizing a meetup in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area, I encouraged them to do it and said that I would advertise it here on the blog to let other people know.

MSP miles and points meetup date

The Minneapolis / St. Paul miles and points meetup will be Thursday March 23rd at 6:30 p.m.  If that date doesn’t work for you but you’re interested in attending future meetups, make sure and join our Slack channel or join the Twin Cities travel hacking group.  In talking with the meetup organizers, it looks like they already have a bunch of people coming, so it should be a good time!

MSP miles and points meetup location

The MSP miles and points meetup will be at Lunds and Byerly’s on France and 70th.  The address is 7171 France Ave S, Edina, MN 55435.  The meetup will be upstairs in the community room

I won’t be able to make it but if you’re in the Twin Cities or the surrounding area I encourage you to check it out!

If you have any questions, leave them as comments here and the organizers will help you out.
