Chase is one of the better banks out there in terms of the ability to earn points through referring friends.
If you already have the Chase Freedom card, there is currently an offer to refer a friend that will earn them 20,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $500 in the first 3 months, and earn you 5,000 Ultimate Rewards points for referring them (up to a maximum of 50,000 points per calendar year).
As you can see, this offer expires December 18th, so you’re running out of time. My referral link is here if you’d like to sign up.
Chase Freedom refer a friend
The Chase Freedom is a great no annual fee card, one that both my wife and I have, and one I would recommend to just about anyone who is travel hacking.

There are 2 main reasons to have one
- If you’re canceling one of the premier Chase cards (such as the Chase Ink or the Chase Sapphire Preferred), you will need to have a place to transfer your Ultimate Rewards so that they don’t expire. Do keep in mind however that in order to transfer points to Chase’s hotel or airline partners, you will need to have a premier Chase card.
- The rotating categories. Each quarter there are quarters that you can earn 5% on your spending, up to $1500 total. This quarter it is Amazon and department stores, and next quarter (Q1 2015) it is grocery stores, movie theaters and Starbucks.

Other Chase refer a friend offers
I attempt to keep a list of the active Chase refer a friend offers. Currently, in addition to the Chase Freedom refer a friend offer which expires December 18th, there is an active deal for the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Southwest Preferred personal card (both expiring February 18th, 2015).
