While sale routes to many Asian destinations have been available for the past year, Seoul and Taipei have remained pricier tickets. But China’s Xiamen Airlines (SkyTeam alliance) is providing excellent discounts for flights to both destinations, plus other cities, from Los Angeles. $400 flights to China are regular occurrences theses days, but not flights to Korea and Taiwan. What makes this even better: all prices include seat selection and checked bags, often excluded in similar fares to Europe. Current routes on sale include:

  • To Taipei from $392
  • To Seoul from $410
  • To Wuhan from $374
  • To Bangkok from $461
  • To Singapore from $472

Pricing these can be tricky. More availability appears on Google Flights, but some online travel agencies reprice the tickets on their page, and Xiamen’s direct booking sometimes won’t show discounts on the dates that Google Flights does. Your best bet is to search Google Flights, and then follow the Priceline link which seems to have the most consistent sale prices. Pricing is generally available for April and May travel, but there is no official end date for these discounted prices. So if these destinations are on your travel list then you may want to reserve sooner rather than later.
