IHG Point Breaks are a periodic promotion that is run by IHG, where a certain list of hotels (usually around 150) is discounted to only needing 5000 points a night to book (instead of whatever the regular price is)
Reader David alerted me that IHG has moved its Point Breaks page. Â Instead of being at
http://www.ihg.com/hotels/us/en/global/redeem-rewards/pointbreaks
the Point Breaks page is now at
https://www.ihg.com/rewardsclub/content/us/en/redeem-rewards/pointbreaks.html
[Why is the IHG Point Breaks page so hard to find?!?]
So if you have the old page bookmarked, you should change your bookmark. Â Of course, really you should bookmark my Complete IHG Point Breaks map and sortable table page, since it’s much better :-). Â We should be expecting a new IHG Point Breaks list towards the end of this month – as always check here at Points With a Crew for a map and sortable table of the hotels.
Cmon IHG can we not get an HTTP 301 redirect in there!?!?

Good to know! Thanks, Dan!
your page lists hotels that IHG has removed from their page, like Sedona, AZ.
Yes – I’m aware of that. I think there is value in listing out the total number of hotels that were on the Point Breaks list when it was announced (For historical purposes). I’ve tossed around the idea of somehow being able to denote which hotels STILL have availability, but I’m not sure the best way to do it
No wonder I got an alert that the site was down. (I keep a check on the site for any changes 24/7)
The new link doesn’t seem to have all the locations or maybe it’s my imagination.
IHG updates their Point Breaks page and removes hotels whose Point Break availability is gone from the page. They have always done that – so the page change has not made a difference with that
for 24 hotels… who really cares. They probably only have a wednesday night available anyway.
There are actually about 150 hotels each quarter. These 34 are all that are left since it’s been 3 months since the Point Breaks list was announced. Trust me, Point Breaks are a big deal
Anyone know tentative date of next points break splash? should be later this month, right?
Correct – should be at the end of this month
