The IHG® Rewards Club Select Credit Card is one of the underrated cards out there.  Here are a few things that it provides

  • IHG Platinum status, which admittedly is not worth a ton
  • A signup bonus anywhere north of 60,000 points, which would be enough for as many as 12 nights at a IHG Point Breaks hotel.
  • It’s not subject to the Chase 5/24 ruleSEE ALSO: The 2 types of cards note subject to Chase 5/24
  • Annual fee waived the first year
  • And the real benefit is that every year after paying the very modest annual fee ($49), you get one free night at ANY IHG hotel (not category capped like most of the other hotel cards are)

Mostly for the anniversary night, this card is one of the few cards that I will pay the annual fee on.  In fact, if you are in the miles and points world with a spouse or partner, I recommend that you BOTH signup for these cards, and at the same time of year.  That way you can sync up your anniversary nights.  Who wouldn’t want 4 free nights at the IHG Bora Bora?!?

IHG® Rewards Club Select Credit Card signup bonus up to 80K

The offer on this card has been for a signup bonus of 60,000 points, but there is now a public offer for 80,000 IHG points.  I’m not able to link to the offer on this page, but it can be found if you check out our page of top credit card offers.  If you’d rather not support me and instead just pay the commission to Chase instead, you can find a link at chase.com

It gives a signup bonus of 80,000 points after spending $1000 on purchases within the first 3 months and an additional 5,000 points for adding an authorized user.

There also exists a targeted offer for 100,000 IHG points on the IHG card.  It’s not available publicly, but there have been multiple reports on our points and miles Facebook group as well as other sites of people that have signed up for the 60,000 or 80,000 point offer being able to match up to the 100,000 offer. by sending a secure message to Chase.  Most of the time, they will tell you that once you’ve met the spending requirements, to send another secure message and they will grant the bonus.

As always, it’s always good to get this stuff in writing in case there are problems down the road.  That’s happened to me quite a few times and I was glad I had written confirmation of these types of promotions!
