IHG has a history of giving out some pretty good quarterly promotions, and they are back with the IHG Accelerate Winter 2018 promotion. For awhile, they were changing the name of the promotion every quarter but recently they seem to be sticking with “Accelerate”

- IHG Accelerate Fall 2016 promotion
- IHG Accelerate Spring 2017 promotion

Then there was the IHG Accelerate promotion from Q4 of 2015, which was the last one that I personally participated in

Now let’s take a look at the the IHG Accelerate Q1 2018 promotion
Accessing the IHG Accelerate Q1 2018 promotion
You can access the IHG Accelerate Q1 2018 promotion at IHG’s website. After you sign in, and accept the terms, you should see your dashboard, which will be personalized with your own offers. Depending on your stay profile, you’ll have different tasks. Typically, the more you have stayed previously with IHG, the harder your tasks will be to complete
All stays have to occur between January 1st and April 30th, 2018 (both dates inclusive). And, as Ian found out when he lost out on 26,500 IHG points, the BOOKING of each stay also has to stay within these dates. IHG Award stays and Cash and Points bookings typically do NOT count.
IHG Accelerate Q1 2018 Dan
Here is my promotion – I have a couple of paid stays on my profile after trying to complete my most recent IHG Accelerate offer (IHG and I still in …. negotiations over that) – before that, my most recent stay was in March at the Staybridge Suites San Francisco Airport, where I used my free night and paid $30 to get upgraded to a 2BR Suite
(SEE ALSO: Where I “wasted” my 2 IHG Free night certificates)
For the first time in awhile, this seems like one that might work. If I’m reading it right, for one stay paid for with my IHG credit card and with a bonus points package, I would get 30,000 bonus points (plus the points for the stay and 2000 extra if the stay is in January). It looks like those bonus packages are typically about $30 extra, so call it $120 all-in. I don’t know that’s mattress run worthy, but if I already have a stay planned, that could definitely be a good option.
There’s also a refer a friend offer for 5000 points which would require that person to create a new account. I may “refer” one of my kids and see what kind of offer they get

My wife has…. the exact same offer 🙁 She has no recent stays on her account but does have an upcoming Point Breaks stay coming up at an exciting Holiday Inn Express!

I’m rather surprised IHG is making this next round available so early. (No one here had received any email notices about it yet either, but we used your link — and got two very AWFUL “offers.”)
Earn 41,000 total bonus points when you complete your offers.
2,000 Stay once in January Bonus
5,000 Refer a Friend and Earn
2,000 Stay Once Get 2,000 Bonus Points
5,000 Stay 3 Nights (3 so far)
3,000 Stay 3 more nights (6 total)
3,000 Stay 3 more nights (9 total)
3,000 Stay 3 more nights (12 to this point)
3,000 Stay 3 more nights (15…)
15,000 Stay 3 more nights (after night 18)
Other than the annual free night last year, didn’t say with IHG at all. (though the offer last quarter was tempting — This one is the absolute dumbest, most insulting IHG offer I’ve seen yet…. and this on top of the fact that IHG hotel prices over the past year have “accelerated” — to the upside….
Don’t see myself staying with IHG much this year, yet again. (other than reward night and/or via much, much cheaper rates via Chase UR points — yet another subject most bloggers have no vested interest in mentioning, much less explaining.)
ps, has me wondering if my wife and I would have seen better offers if we’d just waited for the offer to show up in our email. (That is, did we jump the gun by using your provided link — and get something far inferior to what might have come in time directly to us…. Perhaps this might give others reading here — cause for pause. )
Haha, I kind of doubt it. I followed Dan’s link and my offer looks almost identical. Instead of the 6,600 for the bonus points offer, I have to book with Points + Cash, but everything else is the same.
My current promo (Q4 2017) was also really good so I’m loving IHG right now.
