When last we left the drama that was the IHG Priceless Surprises promotion, I had received all 94 of my entries but my wife was still missing 24 of her entries.
A little background on the IHG Priceless Surprises promotion
If you’re reading this post, you’re probably already aware of the IHG Priceless Surprises promotion, but if not, here’s a little background. It started out all fun and games, when an enterprising blogger figured out that rather than staying 94 times at IHG hotels, you could just mail in 94 envelopes that would net you about 50,000 IHG points. I immediately started my minions to work! 94 envelopes for me, and 94 for my wife, hoping to net 100,000 hotel points.

I’m used to these types of promotions taking a little bit of follow through to actually GET what they say you should get. I once did a promotion involving a laptop, 10 pieces of anti-virus software, 2 printers and 47 mail-in rebates, so I know how this goes.
Here are some of the updates that I’ve made on my saga
- When should I be worried about my 94 envelopes?
- My IHG Priceless Surprises emails have started coming in – including one “You did not win”!?!
- One day left to get 50,000 hotel points
- Yup.. I’m (still) missing IHG Priceless Surprise points
Promotion ended March 15th…. now what?
My account got all 94 of my game plays after only a brief delay. I won 2,000 points twice, 1,000 points 3 times and the other 89 times were 500 point wins – for a total of 51,500 points. My wife, who mailed her 94 envelopes in the day after mine, was stuck on only 14 gameplays for the longest time, but eventually got up to 54 plays. On March 14th, the day before the contest officially ended, I emailed to complain, and received another 16 entries, for a total of 70 plays. She currently has won 1,000 points 5 times and 500 points 65 times, for a total of 37,500 points. I’ve verified that the 89,000 total points have posted to each of our accounts.
Many people in the comments of my last post reported having trouble getting all their points.
How I got my IHG Priceless Surprises promotion points
At this point, it’s clear that Hello World (the contest administrator) has stepped down from the promotion – any emails going to any Hello World email address are being returned with an autoresponder mentioning that the contest is now over. Here are a couple of suggestions
- One person mentioned that they were able to use the live chat feature of the IHG Rewards site.
- I have been emailing ihgservice@ihg.com
The promotion is over, but I figured that IHG was likely to grant 500 points per missing entry. I got an email from IHG Customer Service
Unfortunately, since the promotion has ended, we can no longer send out game plays. However, I have posted 500 points for every missing entry on your account. Total points credited is 2,500.
I reviewed your wife’s account with account and found 70 rewards posted. Kindly note that we have only received 70 entries for this account.
Not sure where the extra 5 entries came from my account – maybe I just counted wrong but hey, bonus! 🙂 I again (seriously this is like the 5th time someone has told me my wife only sent in 70 entries and I’ve told them no, we sent in 94) told him that we were still missing 24 entries for Carolyn, and after a few days I got a response
I credited 12,000 points on your wife’s account for the missing entries that did not receive awards. Her current point balance is XXXXX. Thanks again!
Success! So if you are still missing entries, I would suggest either trying to live chat on the IHG site or sending an email to ihgservice@ihg.com and just not giving up. It looks like IHG is crediting 500 points for every missing entry, but you’re going to have to be aggressive at following up!

I sent in 94 in January and never received anything. After three weeks of email, I live chatted with IHG. Today I received an email stating your points posted and sorry for the inconvenience. 47,000 posted. Now emailed them on the wife’s account. Missing 17 entries there.

I got good results talking to Max on the IHG priceless surprises team in the Philippines. (PWAC: Edited out the actual email address as I don’t think it’s a good idea giving out individual people’s email addresses)

I’m still waiting on 10 entries. I’ve emailed IHG about it, now let’s see if it’ll get resolved as I hate to think that I almost got carpal tunnel for nothing!

Update: It took them a while but once I emailed IHG directly, I’ve finally received all my points.
I received my entries but my husband received only 4 of 94. Multiple emails to HelloWorld prior to the end date resulted in only canned responses. Last response after end date stated his entries were not received (in spite of being delivered to the post office and the same time as mine). I sent an email to ihgservice today.
Update: My husband received 45,000 points for the missing 90 entries a week after emailing ihgservice.
My experience was pretty easy too – blown off by HelloWorld and then IHG service deposited 500 per missing entry with minimal fuss.
Why do you say you have to be “aggressive” in following up? Two weeks ago I told IHG that I had 12 entries that had not been entered and within 5 days I got an email back, apologizing for the delayed response, and telling me my account had been credited with 6,000 points. To me that was great IHG service!
I’m glad you’ve had a good experience. Personally, I had to send in about 4 or 5 emails before someone finally got me my last 24 entries
