Saving Up to $50 On Amazon Prime Day Deals

While I’ve posted a few Amazon Prime Day deals on the site over the past day or so, I also wanted to highlight a few ways that you can potentially save up to $50 on things that you buy on Amazon. Amazon has deals with all the major bank rewards currencies (Chase, Amex, Citi, etc) where you can use your points to save money on Amazon purchases. I don’t recommend using points in this way, because the value that you get from your points is quite low (often around 0.7 cents per point).

HOWEVER, there are occasional deals where you can get a percentage or a flat amount off of your purchase just by using a small number of points. Sometimes it’s using only 1 point, while other times it might be a larger (but still small) number like use at least 625 points. When you do, you might save 20% or $40 on your Amazon order (the amounts vary). These deals are often targeted but widely available. Usually you have to add the corresponding type of card (Chase, Amex, Citi, Discover, Capital One) to your Amazon account and link your rewards account.

Here are a few links to the Amazon promotional pages for most of the major bank currencies to see if you are targeted for any of these promotions. If you are, it’s definitely worth doing – just make sure to only use the minimum amount of points since as I mentioned before, it’s not a great use of your points to use them for Amazon purchases generally speaking

You can also get some Amazon credit by adding certain credit cards to your account
