I was excited to hear the announcement in June 2024 that several Escape Lounges had joined the Priority Pass network, including the Escape Lounge OAK, where I would be traveling in only a few months time. The Escape Lounge OAK is now a Priority Pass lounge, so if you have a Priority Pass Select membership (likely from a credit card), you’ll have complimentary access to Escape Lounge OAK. If you don’t have Priority Pass, you can buy a day pass to the Escape Lounge OAK for $45/ person, which I would not recommend.

Priority Pass OAK / Oakland airport lounge location

The Escape Lounge OAK is located in Terminal 1 near Gate 8. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected airside at OAK, but make sure to leave yourself plenty of time if you have a flight out of Terminal 2.

The Escape Lounge OAK airport lounge is open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. If you have a flight outside those hours, you unfortunately will not be able to use The Oakland Escape Lounge Priority Pass lounge. In our case, our flight was at 6 a.m. (boarding at 5:20 a.m.) so we did not have a ton of time to visit the lounge.

Escape Lounge OAK Priority Pass Oakland airport lounge seating

When you walk into the Escape Lounge Oakland, there is a small check-in area, where you will show your Priority Pass cards and boarding passes. That opens up into the lounge itself. There aren’t a ton of seating options, but it is definitely bigger than the Escape Lounge CVG, for example.

Oakland Terminal 1 airport lounge review: food

This San Francisco Bay Oakland Airport (OAK) Priority Pass lounge had basic availability for food. As I mentioned earlier, the lounge opens at 5 a.m. and our flight started boarding at 5:20 a.m. We had gotten there a bit before 5 and just waited in a nearby empty gate area for the lounge to open. The lounge opened right on time at 5 a.m. and we were admitted as the first guests of the day.

One thing I hadn’t realized before is that the food was brought in separately. So even though the lounge opened at 5 a.m., the hot food was not available right when the lounge opened. Instead, it was brought in about 10 minutes later, and we decided not to have any due to needing to board shortly.

Instead, the family and I had some cold cereal along with an apple cinnamon muffin. There is also water, lemonade, coffee and an espresso machine. There are also canned soft drinks, and unlike the Escape Lounge CVG, they did have Diet Coke.

Escape Lounge OAK airport lounge wifi

The Priority Pass OAK wifi in the Escape Lounge OAK Lounge was moderate. I didn’t have any trouble doing light browsing.

Priority Pass OAK / Oakland Terminal 1 Airport lounge amenities

The Oakland Airport Escape Lounge OAK does not have much in the way of amenities. It’s pretty much just the complimentary wifi and seating. There are not even restrooms in the lounge – instead, you’ll need to make your way back into the terminal.

In any case, I rate the Escape Lounge OAK lounge decent and I would definitely recommend it if you are departing San Francisco Bay Oakland Airport (OAK) with a Priority Pass card
