UPDATE 12/2 – reposting as the last day to get 2000 points by referring friends is tomorrow (Saturday)

I got an email the other day announcing that Southwest refer a friend is back.  The email I got said that it was targeted especially for me, and you will need to have your own link to apply, but check your email – it does seem to be targeted fairly widely

southwest-refer-friends-nov-2016

This is a promotion that happens every few months (last time was back in August).  For each friend that signs up (up to 4), you’ll get a 500 point bonus, and your friend will get 250 points to start off.

Referring kids and family members

I have not yet signed up my kids for Southwest (or most loyalty programs), but I keep feeling like I should.  This would be 750 points for each of us, of about 6000 points total.  That would be enough for a flight, except that they’d be spread across 8 different accounts, and there’s not a great way to combine Southwest points (for free)

(SEE ALSO: How to get Southwest points, FAST!)

If you haven’t signed up yet and want a way to get a few extra points, this would be a way to start off your balance with a few extra points.  My referral link is here, and feel free to leave yours in the comments.
