I recently wrote an entry regarding Amex Offers and various Valentine’s Day gift-giving ideas for your special someone. It does help to know that your gifts could earn you back some credit or Amex Membership Reward points.
What you need to know about Amex offers
Amex Offers are unpredictable. There’s really no way to know how a cardholder ends up getting a targeted Amex offer. It is also common for a cardholder to have the same offer across his/her portfolio of Amex cards. You’d be surprised to see the same set of merchants over and over again, and don’t be alarmed if the offer comes in a form of credit or Amex Membership Rewards. What do I prefer? I prefer getting offers that give additional Membership Rewards. I can combine that with my existing MR earnings that will allow me to book future vacations using points. But if the best offer comes in a form of a credit, I will go for it if it’s something I know I can use.
Sample hotel getaway ideas with Amex Offers
Back to our Amex offers for Valentines Day. Here are various offers that could be used towards a Valentine’s Day getaway. Just keep in mind that hotel rates tend to be more expensive around this holiday. The cool thing about these offers, you don’t necessarily have to book them for a stay on Valentine’s Day itself. As an idea, you can surprise your special someone with a vacation getaway, or even a staycation using one of these hotels. This will allow the couple to celebrate Valentine’s Day on the 14th, and it gives you something to look forward to – booking future upcoming vacation. Here are example of Amex Offers that I saw offered with cards.
- MGM Resorts – Spend $300+, get 6,000 Membership Rewards® Points
- Marriott – Spend $300+, get 4,000 Membership Rewards® Points
- The James New York – NoMad – Spend $500+, get 10,000 Membership Rewards® Points
- Mandarin Oriental Hotel Groups – Spend $500, get $100 back
- Waldorf Astoria/Conrad Hotels – Spend $350 or more, get $70 back
- Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa – Spend $500 or more, get $100 back
- Omni Hotels & Resorts – Spend $300 or more, get $60 back
- Hilton Hotels
- Spend $50 or more, get $10 back. Up to 4x (Hilton gift cards for hotels)
-

Just remember that if you see one or more of these offers on your card, make sure you click on ADD TO CARD. When it’s time to book the hotel, use the Amex Card where you added the offer. Here’s an example of an Amex Offer that was given to one of my accounts:
So if you’re thinking of spending Valentine’s Day in a hotel or resort, you might want to consider taking advantage of the Amex Offers above that are available with your credit card. You can celebrate Valentine’s Day while earning rewards or credit at the same time. Now, that’s a sweet deal!
These are excellent offers, especially the ones that give bonus Membership Reward points. Want to know what offers were given to you? Check your Amex account, and find out if you have any of these offers. Let me know what offers show up on your account, and which ones you will be trying. Good luck!
