Want to earn a quick, easy 10,000 American Express Membership Rewards points? There seems to be a targeted offer right now. And if you’re targeted, you might want to consider it. I actually called Amex two weeks ago. It was on my Amex Business Platinum card, and I had a billing question. At the end of the call, I was offered to sign up for the Extended Payment Option.

What’s the deal with Extended Payment Option

According to American Express, the Extended Payment Option is a “feature for your card that lets you carry a balance and pay off large purchases over time with interest, with no fee to enroll.” By enrolling, you are rewarded 10,000 Amex Membership Rewards. The offer expires 12/31/2018.

I asked the Amex rep if there was going to be a credit check, I was told no credit check. I don’t even have to use the Extended Payment Option. It’s simply an enrollment in the program and is available to me if ever I need to take advantage of the extended payment option. So naturally, I took the offer and went for it.

Two weeks later, I also got the offer via email from American Express. I thought I’d get away with another 10,000 Membership Rewards, but once I clicked on Enroll Now, the system recognized that I had already enrolled for this program. Oh well. Let me know if you got this offer. It appears to be targeted.
