The United States Travel Association hosts the immensely popular Daily Getaways, a month long event in which tons of travel deals are available at discounted rates. This year’s deals start on May 6th and continue through June 4th, launching daily at 1pm EST. Historically the best of these promos sell out within seconds, so if you’re interested, you’ll need to be there (with a fast internet connection and hopefully a few friends) as soon as they launch. There are some new offers here, along with old favorites, and the countdown is ticking.
Week 1: May 6- May 12
There are some decent options here if you’re heading to Las Vegas, but I’d steer clear of the IHG points packages. With the exception of the first 10,000 point offering, the rest of the discounts match the sales that IHG offers regularly throughout the year. However, unlike the regular sales, these packages don’t count toward your 120,000 annual cap for purchased points, so if you’re looking to acquire a lot of points quickly, this is the way to go.
Week 2: May 13- May 19
I’ve spent the last two years jumping on the Universal Studios tickets as I live nearby and these things almost never go on sale. We also see the return of the discounted car rental, which is a good deal in basically all circumstances.
Week 3: May 20- May 26
I’m going to do my best to snatch that $1,000 promo code from Orbitz, but you can be sure that one is going to go almost instantaneously. We’ve also got oodles more packages from Las Vegas here, in case you’re a really big fan.
Bonus
In honor of Daily Getaways’ 10th Anniversary, they’ve announced a new perk when purchasing packages:
- The “Grand Getaway” sweepstakes. For each deal purchased, customers can opt-in to receive one entry to win a $10,000 custom trip to a U.S. destination of their choice.
Summary
Daily Getaways is now in its 10th iteration and more popular than ever. We’re seeing more packages and more interest, so if you’re looking to buy, do it quickly. Deals launch May 6 at 1PM EST and continue daily through June 4. We’ll be doing a deeper dive into each package each day as a reminder.
Have any of you purchased from Daily Getaways before? How was your experience?

I miss the early days when these deals were really good. In 2019, it’s a don’t waste your time event. Just sayin. My 2 cents.
If you travel to LAS off-peak, you can get rooms for a song and a dance (cheap).
Newbies to the frequent miles and points game > Caution.
I too am disappointed with the deals offered this year. Nothing at all appeals to me. I previous years I bought Wyndham points to use at a Viva A.I. resort but now the point price has doubled it’s so not nearly as good of a deal.
No Marriott 🙁
I am happy to see the Alamo certificates return, but I wasn’t able to redeem them without calling in to customer service after booking the rental. Customer service was excellent though and made the change quickly and without much fuss, so I’ll probably buy a few more of those.
