Citi ThankYou points are an additional type of transferable miles and points currency. And while I never suggest “holding” on to points (earn em and burn em), the nice thing about these transferable currencies (like American Express Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards) is that your risk of devaluation is at least mitigated a little bit by the fact that you have several different transfer partners to choose from
Currently Citi ThankYou points transfer to 12 different airlines and Hilton HHonors for hotels
I got an email this morning that from now until January 6, 2016, Citi ThankYou points will transfer 2:1 to Hilton HHonors points (normally they transfer at 1:1 ). So 10,000 ThankYou points would be 20,000 Hilton points.
You can actually already see this on the main Citi ThankYou partner transfer page. I would say that this is not a SUPERB transfer option, but it isn’t horrible (or at least, not as horrible as transferring them 1:1 might be). It does look like they also did this Hilton bonus offer last year about this time. So if you’re looking to transfer your Citi ThankYou points to Hilton, now would be the time to do so (or wait until next year!)

This is incorrect – Hilton transfers are 1:1.5 normally, not 1:1. This is actually a 33% bonus.
Hi, the usual transfer rate is actually 1 to 1.5.
Thanks guys – I looked and the information I had said that it was 1:1, and the Citi official page has already been updated to the 1:2 rate
