Ultimate Travel Jacket details
Here are a few of the details on the Ultimate Travel Jacket
It lists 25 different features, some of which seem more useful than others. For instance, a sunglass or passport pocket seems more useful than say… an Apple pencil pocket :-).
Ultimate Travel Jacket kickstarter options
If you want to back the Ultimate Travel Jacket 2.0, you have a few options
- For $139, you can get either a sweatshirt or windbreaker
- $149 gets you the vest
- $159 gets you the bomber jacket
- And there are a variety of other options and combinations if you want to buy multiples
The Ultimate Travel Jacket 2.0 – it’s already more than met its goal of $50,000 with over $4,000,000 raised, so it’s likely to be produced – estimated ship date August 2018.
When I posted this earlier, there were some comments (see below) about disappointments with the first version of the jacket – it appears that they have made quite a few improvements with version 2.0 and again, it is scheduled to ship next month

What? No built in tent and life jacket? Silly. I think I’ll keep my NRA life member jacket with concealed carry holster instead. Seriously it looks OK but not amazing.
I got the first version and was supremely disappointed!! After delay and delay, I finally got this lumpy mess of a jacket. Idea is cool but execution was terrible. Won’t get burned again
What were you disappointed with? Unnecessary bulk, weight, too may pockets etc…? I am interested in it for the purpose of being able to travel without carrying a purse and or waist belt but would like an honest review.
I’ll concur with Mark on the supreme disappointment with the first version – and even moreso with the founders. While there are aspects I like, and I still wear mine, it was really disappointing how long the delay was (I think mine came about 6 months after the original estimated delivery date, which was a few months after I backed them — it was almost a year altogether if I remember correctly?), which wouldn’t have been such a big deal if not for the almost completely nonexistent communication from the founders about those delays. On average, I think they updated about once a month and didn’t respond to questions. The jacket does have a lot of pockets (we each bought a bomber and each bought a hoodie…and both managed to lose our hoodies early on), and I’ve loaded my bomber up with a fair amount of stuff, but the sizing was also off from their suggested guidlines. I remember there were Facebook groups for people exchanging sizes because the delay on getting new sizes from BauBax was months more (my wife exchanged hers and I think it was another month or two before they responded to the exchange request). Cool concept, but I’ve since ordered from SCOTTeVEST and been equally happy with the product and much happier with customer service.
I love having all my items secured while having hands free for navigating my world and have acquired all that through SCOTTeVEST. I’m all for entrepreneurial enterprise, but this kickstarter company is entering a field where the product line will be competitive. I have been buying SCOTTeVEST for a while and will be interested to see how people who buy both will compare them. Yes, Sunny, wearing the weight does create bulk, but it’s a trade-off that I am comfortable with. I fly a lot, and all these pockets allow everything at my fingertips and safe. Same for when I have kids at the park, etc.
Video no longer available.
I have the original hoodie and the Adventure hoodie. Gotta say Baubax hoodie is really well made. I haven’t heard great things about the jacket though
