KEY LINK: Chase Ink Business Premier℠ card – welcome offer of $1,000 after spending $10,000 in the first 3 months
Small Business credit cards are a bit of a special animal in the credit card world. Unlike what we call “personal” cards, some cards like the Chase Ink Business Premier that are tagged as “business” cards do require you to have a business to apply. You’ll be asked for business identifier (SSN or EIN), business income, years in business and other things about your business on your Chase Ink Business Unlimited application. I’m lucky to have a couple of businesses, but you might have a business too, even if you don’t think you do. You can often apply just as a sole proprietorship with your own SSN if you don’t have a separate business EIN.
Chase Ink Business Premier℠ review
Chase has one of the largest ecosystems of credit cards of any issuer out there, and so it’s always interesting to see when they come out with a new card. The Chase Ink Business Premier is their newest business card, but it works a little differently than some of the other Chase Ink business cards. Instead of earning Ultimate Rewards, the Chase Ink Business Premier card earns cashback and you can NOT combine this cashback with Ultimate Rewards earned by other Chase credit cards.
The Chase Ink Business Premier has a few things going for it
- First, a welcome offer of $1,000 Ultimate Rewards after spending $10,000 in the first 3 months
- Unlimited 2% cash back on all purchases
- 2.5% cash back on all purchases of $5,000 or more and 5% total cash back on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards
- A variety of travel insurance and protections
The Ink Premier card does have a $195 annual fee and it does fall under the Chase 5/24 rule, so you’ll likely not be approved if you’ve applied for 5 or more cards in the past 24 months.
Chase Ink Business Premier℠ Earning Rates
The Chase Ink Business Premier card has a relatively simple earning structure:
- Unlimited 2% cash back on all purchases
- 2.5% cash back on all purchases of $5,000 or more
- Unlimited 5% total cash back on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards
There are a variety of card that offer 2% cash back on purchases, but there aren’t many that offer 2.5% cashback. If you have a small business that regularly makes large purchases, the extra 0.5% cashback could add up over time.
Primary Rental Car Coverage and Travel Protections
One of the best Chase Ink Business Premier benefits is that it offers primary car rental coverage in most countries around the world, as long as you are renting the car for business purposes. Renting a car using a credit card that has primary car rental coverage can be a big time and money saver if you happen to get into an accident or cause damage while renting.

- Purchase and Extended Warranty protection
- Travel and emergency assistance services
Is This The Best Chase Ink Credit Card?
The Chase Ink Premier card is one in a family of Chase Ink cards – here are 3 of the other cards in that family if you’re interested. Keep in mind that the 3 cards below earn Ultimate Rewards points, and those cannot be combined with the cashback that you earn from the Chase Ink Business Premier card.
- Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card: 100,000 points after spending $15,000 in the first 3 months – read our full review here.
- Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card: 90,000 points after spending $6,000 in the first 3 months and 1.5x Ultimate Rewards on all purchases – read our full review here.
- Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card: 90,000 points after spending $6,000 in the first 3 months – read our full review here.
There’s also the old Chase Ink Plus card which also offers 5x on office supply stores (with a $50,000 annual limit) but it is no longer available for new signups. All of these Chase cards are subject to Chase 5/24. So if you’re over 5/24, you likely will not be approved for any of these Chase credit cards. One other thing to note is that this is a business credit card, and typically business cards do not count towards increasing your 5/24 count.
