In 2024, as part of a road trip from Houston to Atlanta, my dad and I needed to make one stop in Montgomery, Alabama. After looking at a few options, we decided to book the Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama. This Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama review will give an idea of the different amenities and features and hopefully help you decide if you want to stay here if you’re looking for a Montgomery Alabama hotel.

Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama location

The Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama is located at 5924 Monticello Dr, Montgomery, AL, 36117. This is on the east side of Montgomery, right off of I-85 and the US231 loop around Montgomery.

When you walk in, the hotel lobby was open with the rooms surrounding this central foyer. It was a bit….. odd looking, with tons of plants / trees and artificial grass on the floor.

We were on the 3rd floor, and the elevator was ancient and super slow. After that first time, I used the stairs.

Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama cost

Cash prices at the Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama for 1 night was $95 after tax. This low cost is the primary reason we ended up booking this. We could have used 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points, but I find my Wyndham Rewards points much more useful for booking Vacasa vacation rentals. This definitely feels like the type of Wyndham hotel that should only be 7,500 Wyndham points per night.

Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama review – room

We had reserved a room with 2 queen beds at the Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama, which was exactly what we got. As I mentioned, we were on the 3rd floor, which was the top floor of the hotel.

The bathroom was off to the side, and had a separate sink area and toilet / shower.

Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama wifi and amenities

Wifi is complimentary in the lobby and in the guest rooms for Wyndham members. The Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama wifi speed was decent, though I did not get a picture of a speed test. There is not a Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama pool – while it physically exists, it was closed (even though it was the middle of the summer), and when I asked about it, I was told that it was permanently closed. It’s not listed on the hotel website under amenities

Similarly, it SAYS there is a Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama fitness center, but when I opened the door, it was full of cleaning supplies. A fitness center is also not listed on the hotel website as an amenity

Laundry at the Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama is one washer and one dryer. There isn’t really a separate business center, but there are two computers in the lobby with a printer that you could use as needed.

Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama hotel review – parking

The Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama parking is directly attached to the hotel and is complimentary. We had no trouble finding a parking space.

Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama food

One downside of the Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama is that there is a complimentary breakfast included, but it is pretty weak. There are no hot items (other than a waffle iron). I didn’t even bother eating anything before we left in the morning

The Bottom Line – Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama hotel review

Overall this was a decent stay if you need to stay in Montgomery Alabama. The room was comfortable and the location was convenient – right off I-85 and the US231 loop. The hotel itself has some decent bones on it – I think this absolutely COULD be a very nice hotel. The current owners have positioned it as a low budget hotel, and as such, set your expectations accordingly.

It’s a bit of a bummer that the complimentary breakfast is so awful and there is no pool or fitness center. The Baymont by Wyndham Montgomery Alabama can definitely be a great option if you’re looking for a Montgomery Alabama hotel.
