It’s back on sale. One of my favorites is this backpack made by Eddie Bauer Packable Backpack. It’s packable, inexpensive, bottomline, it works. I was able to pack this with my travel essentials, and the backpack fits under the airplane seat. When I’m not traveling, I use this around town as well. It’s part of my daily gear. This pricing could be available for a limited time and is subject to change without notice.
What’s the deal with the Eddie Bauer packable backpacks

I have two of these backpacks (a black and olive green color). I’ve traveled with these backpacks all over the world, and have not had an issue. For as low as $13.50, I couldn’t go wrong. Let me know if you plan on going for this deal. Good luck.

Just bought one 5 days ago on Amazon for $30 paying with Discover Card. Today filed the price protection claim for $15, matching to eddiebauer site. I was eyeing it for a while but didn’t want to pay for shipping (and didn’t need anything else for $25 minimum).
Yev, thanks for sharing. Good thinking on the price protection, let me know how it goes.
Yeah, I’ve got the “me Eddie Bauer, wife Tumi” problem, too. Too funny!
So very true! LOL
Thanks for info, bought 2 of them.
You’re welcome. I already have 2 and I’m thinking of getting more…for gifts! 🙂
I bought two of them and got free shipping with ShopRunner as a perk of my Delta Skymiles American Express card.
Jason – do you have a shoprunner account? Or did you pay for standard shipping that is an additional $7.99?
Back when I bought mine nearly 2 years ago, I believe it was purely free shipping with EBauer. As far as Shoprrunner, I don’t think I have an active one. I do see it being offered as freebie with being an Amex cardholder, I just haven’t paid much attention. If you don’t have one, it might be worth it to get 2 or 3 for that price, sign up for free Shoprunner and get the free shipping for the next 3 months. You could use the extra backpacks or give them as gifts. My birthday is in Nov, Derrick. I’ll take a dark blue one, please 😛
Try checking out. Even though it shows your “free” shipping with ShopRunner after signing in with a valid account…it shows a $7.99 line item below (even with a $25+ order of 2 of these) the “free shipping” saying items in your cart aren’t eligible for the shoprunner free shipping…
Same for you?
I didn’t realize that I have an active Shoprunner account (thanks to Amex). I was able to get 2 backpacks for $28.96 (including tax, free 2 day shipping), and I stacked it with another savings portal.
Workaround – re-apply coupon code in shoprunner checkout promo code area and also do not check out with PayPal within shoprunner or the 10% disappears at final checkout
Great tip. And that’s exactly what I did to trigger the EXTRA10 code.
Thanks for sharing….my daughter just tossed her old JanSport bag after returning from Disneyland with a broken strap (could be almost 20yrs old). I got her the larger model for $20. She’s liked the same one I got from EB about 6 years ago for $15 so it’ll make a good surprise at Christmas.
Carolyn, nice! I’ve used mine all over the world, and I plan on using it again on my 2 big trips coming up shortly. It’s so light and easy to use.
Thanks for the great post. Christmas is coming up and guess what Santa is bringing everyone in my Bay Area family?!!
Awesome! It should be a great stocking stuffer when the backpack is in a packable shape. It’s so tiny but so reliable!
I ordered one. I already have a fold-up travel daypack, but it doesn’t have extra pockets and places for a water bottle, so I think this one will be more useful.
