Periodically different banks offer referral bonuses for referring customers.  With Amex Refer a friend bonuses, the typical bonus is 5,000 points per successful referral, which varies in value based on the card from 5,000 American Express or 5,000 SPG points (valuable) to 5,000 Hilton HHonors points (not so much!)

Amex SPG Refer a Friend: Up to 10,000 Starpoints

American Express has just announced an increased offer for the Amex SPG refer a friend – instead of 5,000 Starpoints, it is now 10,000 Starpoints for each referral

You can only do an Amex SPG refer a friend if you actually HAVE the card, so depending on which you have (or both), you might be able to take advantage of the Amex SPG refer a friend for the personal card or for the business card.  Here are the links to generate your links

After you log in at one of those sites, you can do an Amex SPG refer a friend by putting in your friend’s email.  If you want your own link, just send yourself an email.  The email comes within a few minutes.  Your friends must sign up and be approved by June 15th to count for the 10,000 Starwood point bonus.

Note that this offer is for the “standard” offer of only 25,000 SPG points, so unless you have an urgent need for Starpoints, I’d recommend waiting for an increased offer of 30,000 or even 35,000 points.  Another option might be if you want to refer a spouse / friend.

If you would like to sign up for the business card through my referral link, you can do so here.  If you’d like to put your own referral links in the comments, you may do so below, as long as you give your best travel hacking tip along with it.
