New York JFK oneworld Lounge Access and American Airlines Boarding Process
American Airlines and British Airways have a shared lounge that business class passengers have access to – the New York JFK Greenwich Room / AA Flagship Business Lounge, which is located in JFK Terminal 8, near gates 12 and 14. We had a few hours in the lounge in between our incoming flight from Cincinnati and this flight from New York JFK to London Heathrow.
When it was time to board our flight, we made our way just down the terminal to Gate 10, which was quite crowded. We boarded right away by the time we got to the gate, and settled in for the 7 hour flight from New York to London
American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class Seats New York to London
I had selected seats 2A, 2D, 3A and 3D for us, which are the 2 window seats and the 2 left-middle seats in a 1-2-1 American Airlines Boeing 777-200 configuration. My kids were in the window seats
And my wife and I were in the left-middle seats (2D and 3D). I was in 3D.
The middle seats have a full divider that you can raise if you’re traveling by yourself. Because we were sitting in front of each other and not next to each other on this particular flight, we kept the divider up for the entire flight. The seat had both regular AC power outlets and a USB power outlet, as well as controls at the seat and a remote control to manage the TV.
American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class Entertainment
There is a large screen at your seat showing a variety of different entertainment, however somehow I did not take a picture of that (bad travel blogger!). The screen was large and as I recall, the entertainment selection was pretty good (though I slept through most of the flight)
There were headphones provided from Bang & Olufsen, though the jacks for the entertainment system also supported standard headphones.
American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class Review – Amenities
At our seat was an American Airlines Flagship amenity kit from Shinola
It had a standard array of toiletries as well as a sleep mask, face covering and socks.
There was American Airlines business class wifi available for purchase, though because it was a redeye flight and I slept through most of the flight, I did not end up purchasing it.
American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class Menu
Before I get to a review of the food on my American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class flight, here are shots of the menu that was presented onboard.
In addition to the dinner menu, snacks were available throughout the flight and breakfast was available before landing. I requested not to be awoken for breakfast.
There was also a page listing the different beverages available. I don’t drink alcohol, so this is not super exciting for me personally, but I know that many people look for the alcohol selection when selecting a business class flight.
American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class JFK-LHR Food
Before dinner they served mixed nuts
Then dinner was served. I had the golden roasted chicken, which came with seasonal greens and sundried tomato tartar
The chicken was okay but having just eaten (better food) in the lounge, I didn’t really finish the dinner. Of course, that did not stop me from ordering dessert, which was a delicious hot fudge sundae.
The American Airlines Business Class food was decent and I would definitely fly American Airlines business class again.

United’s 777-200 from IAH to FRA business is similar in layout and amenities. Very comfortable. Agree that the food in their Polaris Lounge was better the that on the plane. But allow at least a 2-hour connection window at FRA since UA often holds the flight for connecting passengers at IAH. We missed a 1 hour connection to CDG in Sept 2022 due to this late departure and due to a delay in FRA passport control.
Lufthansa’s 747 IAH TO FRA (flown twice in 2023) is even better in the business section than the 777-200 – roomier, especially the upper deck. Huge storage space for carry-ons. Food was better as well. It leaves 3 hrs earlier than UA to FRA, so one has a larger number of connecting flights to other destinations.
