I recently flew business class on the American Airlines Boeing 777-200 DFW-FRA from Dallas to Frankfurt. This American Airlines business class review will talk about seats, food, amenities and so on. After a bit of trouble booking our flights with Alaska miles, we were on our way. We had a connecting flight from Cincinnati to Dallas, and once at Dallas, we spent most of our time at the Dallas DFW / American Airlines Flagship Lounge and then the Capital One Lounge Dallas / DFW lounge. But before too long, we were ready to board our next flight, in American Airlines Business Class on a Boeing 777-200. This American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class review will go through the seat, amenities, food and other experiences on our flight.

American Airlines Flagship Business Lounge Access and American Airlines Boarding Process

American Airlines (and all oneworld) business class passengers have access to the Dallas DFW / American Airlines Flagship Lounge, which is located in Terminal D near Gate D22. Our connecting flight from Cincinnati to Dallas left us with several hours to spend in the lounge, though we did eventually move next door to the Capital One lounge, which I would recommend over the AA lounge if you have access to it.

When it was time to board our flight, we made our way over to Gate D3. We boarded with the first group, and made our way down the jet bridge towards the Boeing 777-200 plane. They had an agent at the gate verifying that all U.S. passports were signed, as they said that apparently Germany likes to fine people without signed passports.

American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class Seats Dallas to Frankfurt

I had selected seat 10D for me, which is the left middle seat in a 1-2-1 American Airlines 777-200 Business Class configuration. I had put my dad and sister in seats 9A and 10A.

The seats have a full divider that you can raise if you’re traveling by yourself, which is what I did. The seat had both regular AC power outlets and a USB power outlet, as well as controls at the seat and a remote control to manage the TV.

One thing to point out about this seat is that row 10 is the last seat in the business class cabin. So there was a cutout behind my seat where you could see back into the premium economy section. They closed this after takeoff and it wasn’t really an issue for me, but something to be aware of.

American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class Entertainment

There is a large screen at your seat showing a variety of different entertainment, however somehow I did not take a picture of that (bad travel blogger!). The entertainment had a pretty wide selection of movies, TV shows and other entertainment.

American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class Review – Amenities

At our seat was an amenity kit from Raven / Lily

a black and orange striped pouch

It had a standard array of toiletries as well as a sleep mask, face covering earplugs.

a black eye mask and a tube of cream and a small tube of cream on a white surface

Rather than socks in the amenity kit, they provided slippers to wear.

a pair of grey slippers and pants

There was also a headset from Bang & Olufsen, which I found to be pretty comfortable.

There was American Airlines business class wifi available for purchase. Because it was (sort of) during the day and I had more time awake, I did end up purchasing the plan. It was USD$30. The speed was quite reasonable and I was able to do everything I wanted to do on the Internet during my flight.

American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class Menu

Before I get to a review of the food on my American Airlines Business Class flight, here are shots of the menu that was presented onboard.

There was also an insert listing the different wines available. I don’t drink alcohol, so this is not super exciting for me personally, but I know that many people look for the alcohol selection when selecting a business class flight.

American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class DFW-FRA Food

Dinner was served shortly after take off. First came the appetizer which was a spring mix salad with sweet buffalo chicken.

a plate of food on a table

Next came the main course. One big downside of being in Row 10 is that they ran out of the beef and chicken meals, which I would have preferred. I had the blackened barbamundi (fish) which was better than I was expecting.

a plate of food with sauce and fork

Dessert was next – I had the gourmet cheese plate.

a plate of food and a packet of food

And then asked for an ice cream sundae as well, which was delicious.

a glass with a white and brown liquid in it

During the flight, there was a snack basket which was kept in the galley as well as brought out into the cabin periodically.

a basket of snacks and a basket of chips

After getting a solid few hours of sleep, when I woke up, breakfast was served. I had the cheese omelet.

The American Airlines DFW-FRA Business Class food was excellent and I would definitely fly American Airlines business class again.

The Bottom Line – American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class Review Dallas to Frankfurt

My American Airlines Boeing 777-200 Business Class review is that it was an outstanding flight, with a comfortable lie-flat seat and excellent food. If you have the chance to fly American Airlines Business Class on the Boeing 777-200, I highly recommend it.
