I’ve posted several articles about the Alaska Airlines (AS) first class discounts to and from California recently, and the Flyertalk discussion keeps adding cities. Instead of continually adding more posts, I felt it better to give you a single article with the current list of sale fares from paired cities. I checked every California airport that Alaska serves (because I love you that much) just to be sure I didn’t miss anything. However, it seems the deals are only from the semi-“hub” airports listed. The criteria for inclusion here are simple:
- Under $400
- widely available now (or very recently)
- Non-stop
- Longer than 1 hour flight
Here are the deals I found, including expiration months. In some cases, those with expirations in October or November can still be purchased for 2020 travel at $20 – $40 more than these prices. Also, Delta has offered similar prices to some cities from Los Angeles; Alaska doesn’t seem to have matched those prices.
Dallas | Austin | St. Louis | Kansas City | Salt Lake City | Albuquerque | El Paso | Boise | Omaha | Tucson | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
San Francisco | $337, April | $357, October | $277, November | $297, October | ||||||
San Jose | $337, October | $318, October | $274, November | $298, November | ||||||
Los Angeles | $297, October | $237, November | $305, December (Delta) | $381, April (Delta) | $355, December (Delta) | |||||
San Diego | $277, October | $337, April | $378, October | $339, April | $237, October | $259, October | $239, December | $334, October | $318, October |
First class means two free checked bags and, of course, seat selection. All flights are non-stops are operated with Embraer 175s, which have a pretty comfortable domestic first class seat. Especially if you get the “A” side – a single seat that is both “aisle” and “window”.
These deals are bookable directly with Alaska or with online travel agencies. When searching on Google Flights look for “business” class, and on OTAs search for “first” class. This deal is a nice discount from regular pricing (~$550) so take advantage now if these flights work for you.

“Plus Delta Joins In”
Must have missed that part — how is Delta involved, please?
Delta has good prices from LAX for some of the same cities that Alaska has from others. They are listed on the table.
