I try to keep tabs on flight deals, receiving daily emails from various sites, but sometimes I stumble onto deals myself when goofing around with Google Flights, usually just for kicks (SEE: 6 reasons why Google Flights is the BEST flight search engine). One-way flights don’t typically price as favorably as a round-trip, but sometimes you can stumble onto an excellent fare.
Transpacific premium economy for $367!
The current deal is available between Shanghai Pu Dong (PVG) and Los Angeles (LAX). Here are the details:
- Carrier: American Airlines
- Class: Premium Economy
- Dates: Scattered dates over February, March and May
- Notes: Nonstop, and operated by a 787-9
If you’re willing to brave the long-haul from China to the U.S. in coach, you can actually score those seats for an amazing deal as well. They are pricing at only $179 one-way!
Given that premium economy typically prices above $1,000 for a round-trip ticket, this is an excellent deal for a one-way ticket. Delta is also currently offering a deal to PVG booking ex-LAX on their product, but you have to purchase this as a round-trip for $822.
I’ve not been to Shanghai, but I’m taking advantage of this deal to plan my first trip there. I recently took my older two kids to Beijing and Hong Kong where we had an amazing time for 10 days (SEE: Delta 767 Economy Class Review: Seattle to Beijing).
