This fall and winter American Airlines has fares to and from Chicago to numerous cities for just $97. Often that price beats low-cost carrier fares; since AA basic economy includes a carry-on (excluded from budget airline fares) that’s added savings for travelers. These fares are available on irregular select dates, and don’t represent a widespread sale, but do offer good values compared to regular prices in most cases. In most cases, these are non-stops, also a nice bonus. $97 fares are available from:
- Dallas
- Houston
- Austin
- Jacksonville, FL
- Nashville
- Raleigh, N.C.
As noted, these are basic economy fares which includes a carry-on bag and snacks. Main cabin costs an additional $80 – $160, so it’s best to maybe purchase the upgrade for children too young to travel alone. Availability differs by route, so if you’re interested in these fares, book sooner rather than later. There are more AA deals to Chicago available, and I’ll post those later today.
