Here are the details, as far as I have been able to compile
There were 56 passengers and 10 crew aboard. The captain had over 6,200 hours of flying experience, and the co-pilot had over 2,700 hours. The plane was an Airbus A320 and departed Paris at 10:45 p.m. It was scheduled to arrive in Cairo at about 3 a.m. Egypt time but has not landed as of this time. It was flying at 37,000 feet and in contact with Greek air traffic control when the ATC lost contact with MS804 about 10 miles after it entered Egyptian airspace. This was at about 3:27 local time for the handover of the plane to Cairo’s area of responsibility, but “despite repeated calls, the aircraft did not respond.”
At this time I have not seen any confirmed accounts of what happened. My heart and prayers go out to the families and friends of all those affected.
