A friend of mine is in e-commerce, and he’s said a few times that online shopping is up. WAY up. Makes sense right now…I mean, nobody is going into the stores, right? Well, if you’re one of those online shoppers, you might as well snag a few extra miles. I’m a huge fan of shopping portals in general, and even more so when they run the occasional promotion. Right now, you can get bonus miles on Alaska, American, and United.
Airline Shopping Portal Bonuses
Many shopping portals share the same back end, so it’s no surprise that the offers are very similar.
- Make one purchase of $50+ ($75+ for Alaska) through the portal, earn 500 bonus miles.
- Make two purchases of $50+ ($75+ for Alaska) through the portal, earn 1,000 bonus miles (cumulative)
- Make three purchases of $50+ ($75+ for Alaska) through the portal, earn 1,500 bonus miles (cumulative)
- Make four purchases of $50+ ($75+ for Alaska) through the portal, earn 2,020 bonus miles (cumulative)
You have to login and register for the promotion to be eligible to earn miles. Register here:
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Shopping (expires May 19)
American Airlines AAdvantage eShopping (expires May 19)
United Airlines MileagePlus Shopping (expires May 19)
At a time when many stores are reducing portal earning or removing themselves entirely from shopping portal lists, it’s interesting to see this promotion. I hope you guys get some use out of these!

This post seems pretty out of touch with reality, considering a majority of of United States is in the process of opening back up.
Over 200,000 people a day are flying around the country, and stores where I am are busy.
Not only is the information out of date, but I think would make a lot of sense for people to shop locally and support their neighborhood businesses, you know, the ones we effectively ruined, by turning off the economy?
Would it make a lot more sense to have compassion for a fellow humans, instead of just spending our money online?
Hmm, I’m in the Boston area and we’re still mostly shut down. I definitely agree, support your local businesses!
But if you’re unable to, or need to shop online for some other reason, these deals can be useful
The $75 is just for Alaska; United and American are 450 for the same conditions
ah, Typo! it’s $50, not 450
d’oh! Of course it is, thanks Jim, updated the post!
