This week, Capital One announced the latest addition(s) to its newly transferrable points. Hotel points don’t often get folks quite as excited as airline programs, but they still represent some tremendous value when used correctly. Besides, whenever a program adds more options, that’s a plus for all of us in the travelsphere.

As of Feb. 4, Capital One Spark and Venture cardholders can transfer their points at the following rates:

  • 2:1 to Accor Live Limitless Points (1,000:500)
  • 2:1.5 to Wyndham Rewards Points (1,000:750)
  • 2:1.5 to JetBlue TrueBlue (1,000:750) improved from 2:1 previously!

Time to Cash in Those Capital One Points!

Accor offers more than 30 distinct brands and a global footprint for your next stay. (I only recognize one of them – there’s a Fairmont in Boston.)  While I’m not familiar with their points system, I’m always a fan of more flexibility for all of our points.  Wyndham we know and love, or sometimes hate, due to their short-lived single points system. For a while, you could book any night, any Wyndham brand, for 15,000 points/night. Obviously, this made some redemptions an absolute home run, and others not so great.  Either way, Wyndham and Accor together offer Capital One fans some great new options on redeeming points.

By the way, Capital One is the first credit card program to partner with Accor and Wyndham!  Great news for those of us looking for more options.

JetBlue fans will also appreciate the better rate on points transferred to the domestic carrier. Almost a year ago, JetBlue was added to Capital One’s roster of transfer partners; you could transfer your points at a 2:1 ratio.  Now frequent flyers will be able to take advantage of those sweet, sweet Mint seats with their stash of Capital One rewards.
