Save 35% on Northeast Regional and Acela Amtrak Travel
Check your email for the subject line “3 days only. Save 35% on Northeast travel.” Here’s the email offer:
For a limited time, select Amtrak travel in the Northeast is on sale. Book September 25 – 27, 2019 to save 35% on travel November 1, 2019 – February 29, 2020. Whether you’re searching for a weekend excursion this winter or planning ahead for the holidays, there’s a deal that will take you there. This offer is available on routes in the Northeast, including Acela® and Northeast Regional.
Amtrak also lists some sample fares in the email, including Boston to Portland ME for only $19. Philadelphia to Washington DC for only $29! Great deals, if you live in the Amtrak-heavy northeast corridor. Despite the occasionally…interesting comments on our site (no seriously, read the comments section on this post), I’ve found Amtrak travel to be very simple and enjoyable. I’ve taken the Amtrak out of Boston’s South Station to New York and to Baltimore. Both overnight train rides were a great experience!
Amtrak Guest Rewards points are loosely tied to the cash price of your Amtrak ticket. There may be some value in redeeming your hard earned points too. Fair warning though, I’ve definitely gotten better cents-per-point value from expensive or long-distance tickets than I’ve ever gotten from cheaper train fares.
If you’ve got travel coming up this winter, or just want to see a different winter wonderland, check out the sale here!
