My recent flight to Europe was canceled and I eventually was rerouted on another flight in economy (although I had redeemed for business).
There were 5 things I did right when my flight was canceled, and 3 things I did wrong.
But now it’s time to submit an EU261 compensation claim for a delayed or cancelled flight
We’ll see how it goes – I believe I’m entitled to €600 in compensation (per ticket!)
Now that we’re back from our Europe trip, it’s time to plan the NEXT trip
A “Round the world” itinerary is one of the things on my travel bucket list
Here’s my first attempt at a potential first-class round-the-world trip – what do you think about this itinerary?
One of my favorite events of the year was Amex Small Business Saturday
In past years, American Express offered statement credits for making purchases at participating small businesses
This year, Amex has decided that they will not be offering any such statement credits
It’s up to you whether you still want to participate in SBS (there are still reasons to support small businesses of course). Â For me, I’m not bothering.
Here are the rest of this week’s stories:
Family Travel
- On several of my hotels on my European trip, I was charged a few Euros as a “hotel city tax” -are these taxes a legitimate expense, or a hotel extortion attempt?
Miles, Points and Credit cards
- The Chase Ink 60,000 point offer is back – if you’re looking to pick that card up (I’ve written about it before), now would be a good time to do so.
- Here’s a review of chip and pin credit cards – you’ll definitely want to get one if you’re heading to Europe
- Chase transfers to Amtrak are going away on December 7th – so if you want to transfer those points, you’ll need to do so before that deadline
If you’re still up for more travel reading, here’s last week’s recap:Â How to get into Priority Pass lounges without a card, 200 free SPG points and 5 things I did right
