Hotel website often have long list of the different “amenities” that they provide. I don’t know why specifically they have these long lists, but I’m guessing it’s either to make them seem more important (who really reads long lists) or to justify additional resort or destination fees.
The most ridiculous hotel “amenity”
We have an upcoming stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando-International Drive/Convention Center down in Orlando. I was looking through their amenities page to see if they offered laundry (they do, but at $3.50 per load!)

And I looked through their list of amenities. It goes 67 long, including sections For Your Business Convenience, For Your Family’s Comfort and Convenience, For Your Comfort and Convenience, For Your Fitness and Recreation Convenience, and For Your Accessibility Needs.
I find it pretty ridiculous that they claim Walt Disney World as one of their hotel’s “fitness and recreation” amenities but then I found one that was even MORE ridiculous
Under For Your Comfort and Convenience they list (emphasis mine)
- Automated Teller (ATM)
- Beverage Area, Complimentary
- Breakfast Area, Complimentary
- Coin Laundry ($3.50)
- Concierge Desk
- Digital Key Available
- Electric Service
- Elevators
- Gift Shop
- Guest Activity/Recreation Desk
- Laundry/Valet Service
- Local Area Transportation
- Luggage Hold
- Multi-Lingual Staff
- On-Site Convenience Store
- Safety Deposit Box
- Tour Desk
ELECTRIC SERVICE?!?!? I’m so glad that I don’t have to pack my candles! We’re flying on Frontier so luggage space is tight!! I tried to think of what else “electric service” could possibly mean but was having trouble figuring it out. I’d love to hear your ideas

A lot of hotels are offering electric vehicle charging now. This might be what they are referring to.
I asked at the front desk and they said they didn’t have any electric charging and had no idea what “electric service” could be referring to
That was what we used to call a vibrator in my youth. Not quite the 1800’s but a while ago!
Perhaps it meant they had the capability for plug-ins for electrical/computer-related devices
