I have visited the Plaza Premium Terminal 1 F Gates YYZ Priority Pass lounge a few times over the year. This review is an amalgamation of a few different visits, with my most recent visit in 2024. The past several times that I have traveled through Toronto, we have gone back home to Ohio by way of Toronto. On the trip my daughter and I took to China (SEE ALSO: 11 things from an 11 year old’s first business class flight) it was due to finding business class availability (with no ANA fuel surcharges) on Air Canada. More recently, my wife and I spent a few days in Montego Bay Jamaica and due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the only reasonably priced tickets required overnighting in Canada on the way home.
Plaza Premium YYZ Priority Pass location, access and hours
There are actually 6 different Plaza Premium lounges in the YYZ airport. We were in the YYZ Terminal 1 Transborder Plaza Premium lounge – the F gates for flights to the United States. The Priority Pass YYZ Plaza Premium lounge is located between Gates F55 and F57 in the F-terminal of Toronto’s YYZ airport. The F gates are for departures from Toronto to the United States.
Once you clear through the US Preclearance facility, you’ll go down one level.
Turn left towards Gates 55-57, and the Plaza Premium Terminal 1 F Gates YYZ will be on your left.
The Toronto Plaza Premium lounge is accessible to holders of a Priority Pass membership. When I was here a few years ago, they were in temporary quarters but now they are in an actual lounge. The Plaza Premium Toronto Airport hours are from 4:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
When I last visited, it was around 12pm, and they had a sign out front saying they were at capacity.
But when I asked about being added to the waitlist, they said that they did have availability, and during the hour or so that I was in the lounge, I saw new guests entering regularly. So I don’t know if this is a situation where they have the sign out front to discourage people? It was kind of weird.
Priority Pass YYZ Plaza Premium seating
The Priority Pass YYZ Plaza Premium lounge review does not a ton of seating in the lounge. I didn’t manage to get a picture of it (Because it was super crowded and I didn’t want to take pictures of people), but I’d estimate room for about 50-70 people.
There are a small number of tables and the chairs are fairly comfortable.. Every time I’ve been to the Plaza Premium YYZ lounge, the lounge has been pretty full.
Plaza Premium YYZ Priority Pass food
The Toronto YYZ Airport Plaza Premium lounge actually has a food spread that is above average for most domestic airport lounges (yes, I know Canada isn’t “domestic”). In addition to a variety of cold foods, there is also a small selection of hot food as well.
Though I will say that the penne pasta that they had the last time I was here may literally have been the worst pasta I’ve ever had. It was “penne with pesto” and the pesto consisted of random green flakes sprinkled on. I had 2 bites before I couldn’t continue, and I have a pretty low bar for food! The meatballs were good though.
The other times that I have been there it has been during breakfast and there has been eggs and breakfast meats – similar to what you’d find in a mid-tier hotel (Hampton Inn, Best Western, etc)
There is also a small bar with a variety of different alcoholic beverages
And an area with self-serve soft drinks and juices
Plaza Premium Priority Pass YYZ wifi speed and amenities
There are a few single-person restrooms located in the back of the lounge. There aren’t very many (any?) power outlets available either
The Plaza Premium YYZ lounge wifi was actually quite fast – among the fastest I’ve ever seen in an airport lounge
It took me awhile to get through the connection process (which was probably a me thing), but afterwards I had no problems with wifi speed, as you might imagine
The Bottom Line
All in all, with airport lounges, you kind of get what you get (generally an airport lounge is going to at least be a step up from the terminal), but I was pleased with my experience with the Plaza Premium Priority Pass YYZ lounge

You probably should note which Plaza Premium lounge you are reviewing – there are like half a dozen of them at YYZ, including two separate transborder ones.
Thanks Ben – I see that now. I was at the Terminal 1 Transborder lounge (F gates to the United States). I’ll update the post
Don’t be too hard on yourself for referring to Canada as domestic. American airlines agrees…flying in F on AA to the US *should* be treated as intl first, but is not.
It’s just America’s Hat? 😛
