We were in Chicago last week. To our great surprise, we were able to purchase 3 excellent seats in the 5th row for face value (about $200 each) two days before the performance. My guess is that a subscriber either exchanged or cancelled tickets that then became available for purchase. (Several other performances had face value tickets available, but the others were either $350 seats, restricted view seats, or nosebleed seats.)
Nice!!! That’s actually a great way of scoring tickets at face value. Not always guaranteed. Was there a cancellation line? Or you just dropped by the Box office.
Jason – it was easier than that. I just used Ticketmaster online to check seats. Face value seats are colored blue; resale seats are orange-red. Found the tickets 20-Sept evening for the 22-Sept matinee show.
