Wyndham is offering a promotion where you can earn a free night after two stays if you pay with Masterpass. Wyndham has previously teamed up with Masterpass, offering a similar promo last year. Just like the last one, this represents a great opportunity to bank some Wyndham points.
Details on the promotion
The promotion terms state that you can earn 7,500 bonus points per stay if you pay for your Wyndham hotel stay online using Masterpass or using Masterpass via the Wyndham app. You can do this for a maximum of two stays to earn a maximum of 15,000 points, which is enough for a free night.
Note that Wyndham specifically bolds “we may change or cancel this promotion at any time“. Wyndham has pulled promotions early in the past, so be aware and make sure you have a backup plan if you book a stay for the sole reason of maximizing this promotion.
This promotion runs through the end of August 2018. You must book your stays by no later than August 31, and must complete them no later than September 1.
Wyndham is an undervalued program
With all the focus currently on the Marriott/SPG merger, other programs may be overlooked. But don’t overlook Wyndham. They may not have the same quality of properties across the board that many people are looking for, but there are enough gems that you should consider banking some Wyndham Rewards points for select hotels and locations. With the flat 15,000-point cost for a award nights, the program provides some unique opportunities.
Here is some of the best I’ve found, where 15,000 points can save you $300+ per night.
So, this promotion may even be worth mattress running, if you have a specific use for the points and you live near some super cheap Wyndham properties.
Conclusion
If you have a use for Wyndham points, consider working some Wyndham stays into your upcoming travel plans. This promotion is ideal for me since Wyndham properties are always within our work budget, and it should be easy to maximize this deal to bank points for a nice at a much nicer property down the road.
