My husband and I are heading to Las Vegas for the long weekend this week. I am quite excited because I booked an one-bedroom penthouse fountain view suite at Vdara, thanks to the 35% discount offered by my Mlife Platinum status. But after reading a post by MommyPoints, I found out I could do a Total Rewards Diamond status match using my Mlife Platinum status, and I will get a FREE 4-night stay at Atlantis Bahamas! This Vegas trip is sounding more and more exciting!
Total Rewards Diamond status match
Total Rewards is the reward program for resorts and casinos owned by Caesar’s Entertainment, similar to the Mlife Reward program from MGM. There are four membership levels within Total Rewards: Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Seven Stars, with varying degree of benefits at both Caesar’s properties and its partners.
Through December 31 this year, the Total Rewards Diamond status match promotion will be offered to anyone with VIP status from select competitors of Total Rewards. You can find the details and complete list of competitors here. Included in the list is Mlife Platinum and Noir status! Unfortunately, Current Hyatt Explorist and Globalist can be match to only Mlife Gold (see details here). But during the pre-World of Hyatt days, Hyatt Diamond status was matched to Mlife Platinum status. That was exactly how I got my Mlife Platinum status!
Total Rewards Diamond status will get you benefits such as:
- No resort fees, and complementary self and valet parking
- Priority lines at hotel check-in, restaurants, casino cashiers and the Total Rewards Centers
- 20% discount at casino gift shops
- Free or discounted hotel stays
- 15% discount on best available rates on rooms and suites
- Guaranteed room with 72 hours notice in Altantic City and Las Vegas
- Room upgrade to best available room at check-in
- Complementary early check-in and late check-out
- Access to Diamond lounge
- $100 celebration dinner
- Complimentary stay at Atlantis, Paradise Island in The Bahamas.
- Tier Status match with Wyndham Rewards, see details here.
- Discounts on select Norwegian Cruise Line® vacations, see details here.
To receive the status match, you must visit the Total Rewards desk at one of the casinos and present your VIP membership card from a competitor. Participants that had their Total Rewards accounts upgraded via the 2017 Diamond Tier Match Offer will not qualify for this offer.
According to this Reddit thread, there are some lucky people got their Total Rewards Diamond Status Match requested granted using only Mlife Gold status. But the promotion terms do state clearly only Mlife Platinum and Noir status qualify. So it is entirely YMMV if you only have Mlife Gold, and certainly consider yourself lucky if you do get matched to Total Rewards Diamond!
Wyndham Rewards Platinum and Diamond members can also match their status in Total Rewards. This is interesting, as Total Rewards program year ends January 31, while Wyndham Rewards program year ends December 31. So technically on January 1, you can use your Total Rewards diamond status to match to Wyndham Diamond. Then on February 1, use your new Wyndham diamond status to match to now-expired Total Rewards Diamond, and get a new set of Total Rewards benefits until the next January 31! I am not a member of Wyndham Rewards, but I may have to sign up just for this benefit! Unfortunately Wyndham doesn’t match with other hotel chains at this point. However, there is one Barclay Wyndham visa card that offers free Wyndham Platinum status, but it comes with $75 annual fee.
Total Rewards Diamond Status means 4 free nights at Atlantis
Total Rewards has a partnership with Atlantis Bahamas. One of the benefits for Total Rewards Platinum, Diamond and Seven Stars members is one complimentary stay at Atlantis Bahamas. Platinum members get a 3-night complementary stay while Diamond members get a 4-night complimentary stay. You can find complete details here.
The 4-night free package you can book at Atlantis varies depending on the tier credit level of your Total Reward Diamond status. It will be interesting to find out what level of Diamond tier credit you get from this status match. The Atlantis package includes four free nights in a nicer room during off-peak season than during peak season, with additional two nights at deeply discounted nightly rates.
Conclusion
I love status match and free hotel stays. I am excited that I can put my expiring Mlife Platinum status to greater use. I will have to see how I can fit a 4-night trip to Atlantis in my already full travel schedule spread within my busy work schedule.
If you have Mlife Platinum status matched during the pre-World of Hyatt days using Hyatt Diamond status, or if you have Wyndam Platinum or Diamond status, you should definitely take advantage of this 2018 Total Rewards Diamond Status match.

In Vegas now, did the status match (Mlife Platinum) at the Cromwell – was pretty easy. They did comment that my Mlife Platinum card did not have an expiration date on it so I pulled up the Mlife website and logged in to show them it was current. So now I’m a newly minted Diamond with Total Rewards – will have to look into the Atlantis trip. Thanks for the details.
4 Free nights is an awesome deal.
