I got an email a few days ago about a new US Airways Mastercard refer a friend offer

us-airways-mastercard-refer-a-friend-offer

This is similar to the list of Chase Refer a friend offers , and the American Express refer a friend offers also out there. The Chase Freedom refer a friend just expired, though it will probably be back before long)

If you have a US Airways Mastercard, you’ll want to check your email or account online.  I have heard that some people have gotten a 10,000 bonus, though mine was just for 5,000.  If you have recently signed up for the US Airways Mastercard, make sure to check your welcome packet, as mine included a one-day US Airways or Admirals Club lounge pass!

A better offer out there

There is a better US Airways Mastercard offer out there, which offers 50,000 miles upon first purchase, and then 10,000 miles on your anniversary date.  This offer was originally targeted for US Airways elite members, but that doesn’t seem to be enforced.  There have been reports of people being insta-denied for this offer, so your mileage may vary.

Conversion to American AAdvantage miles

The one big bonus for these US Airways cards is that they are going away, so people are trying to sign up for them while they’re still there.  Because US Airways and American are combining their loyalty programs sometime in Q2 of this year, this card will go away (to be replaced by a Citibank AAdvantage card), and all your US Airways Dividend Miles will be converted into American AAdvantage miles.

Have you signed up for the US Airways card yet?
