Recently I posted that we had learned the first of the Chase Freedom 2015 categories – grocery stores, movie theaters and Starbucks.  You’ll be able to activate the 1st quarter bonus in about 2 weeks (starting on December 15).

In the meantime, thanks to a user on Reddit (via Doctor of Credit), we have an idea of what the Chase Freedom 2015 categories will be –

By doing a bit of URL manipulation, we were able to find the following image

Note that this has not actually been published by Chase, so is still definitely subject to change, but it gives you at least a little bit of an idea.  Generally speaking, I use my American Express Every Day preferred card at grocery stores (since I don’t have the “Old Blue” Amex card), which gives 3x Membership Rewards, but 5x from the Freedom will be better of course.

Currently the Chase Freedom signup bonus is as high as I’ve ever seen it.  If you already have the card, you can also sign up to see if you are eligible to earn a 5,000 mile bonus for referring friends to get the card.

(READ: Chase Refer-a-Friend: Active offers to get free miles) – there are a few other Chase cards that also are offering refer a friend bonuses.

The one downside is that some of the leaked categories overlap with the Discover and/or Citi Dividend 5% quarterly bonuses, which is disappointing.
