UPDATE – As of 2020, the Airspace Lounge Cleveland has closed and reopened as The Club CLE – read my complete Priority Pass The Club CLE Review here.
Our first stop on our trip to Peru was Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE). Â We had dropped off some of our kids with my parents in Cleveland and booked our flights to/from Cleveland. Â Although I have flown out of CLE many times when I was younger, this was clearly the first time
Our flight was to Washington Dulles, which was the flight that I kind of, um, forgot to book. Â We only had about an hour to kill before our flight, but we were both super hungry so we thought we would check out the Airspace Lounge Cleveland.
Airspace Lounge Cleveland location, cost and admission
The Cleveland Airspace airport lounge is not affiliated with any airline and, unlike many independent lounges, is ALSO not affiliated with Priority Pass. Â Instead, access is complimentary with any American Express Business or Personal Platinum or Centurion card.
If you don’t have one of those cards, you can pay $20 for a day pass. Â All admissions come with a $7 food and drink credit. Â As I read the sign, unlike the American Express Centurion lounges, ALL immediate family (or up to 2 guests) would get admission AND the food credit. #2ndkidsmatter
The Airspace Lounge is located in the center of Cleveland Hopkins airport – a short walk towards the B gates. Â It is super small (this picture captures pretty much the entire lounge)
Reviewing the Airspace Lounge Cleveland food
As I mentioned, you get a $7 food and drink credit with each lounge admission (even free ones you get from having an American Express card). Â I was slightly disappointed because the agent checking me in referred to it as a “drink” credit, and since we don’t drink alcohol, I thought it would be wasted. Â But the menu has a variety of food options as well and priced so that it will cover pretty much one of any item.
I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Carolyn had the Asian noodle salad.
It was pretty good! Â I mean it wasn’t quite the ridiculous Emirates First Class lounge in Dubai but it beats the pants off the free offerings in the Delta Skyclub / United Club / AAdmirals Club, to say nothing of the worst airport lounge I’ve ever been in
[Delta Skyclub MSP vs. CVG Showdown]
[Which AA Admirals Club Chicago is better?]
Drink prices are on the menu but soft drinks are complimentary – self-serve, from the world’s oldest pop dispenser
One interesting note is the lack of a Sprite / 7-up alternative. Â There’s actually nothing (besides water) that doesn’t have caffeine, if that’s relevant for you.
Airspace Lounge CLE amenities
The wifi at the Airspace Lounge was a little slow but still quite serviceable. Â I was able to work / blog / surf the Internet with no problem. Â Like most lounges and public places, video streaming and such on the wifi is not allowed.
There are no restrooms in the lounge – instead the closest restrooms are a close walk out the door near gate B1.

I was there in April and thought the Air Space was better than waiting in the airport, It was quiet. The attendant was not particularly helpful and the lack of a restroom in the lounge is a real downside.
The “L” on the soda button stands for lemon/lime that is the Sierra Mist/ sprite option.
