American Express Centurion Lounge Las Vegas
So a few weeks ago I was at the American Express Centurion Lounge Las Vegas.

I am not a frequent visitor to the Centurion Lounge (it was my first and to date only time), but I had a great time there, both on my way to Las Vegas and on my way back home. I’m not sure it was worth the nearly $1000 that I turned down on my flight there, but it was definitely a nice place to relax inside the airport!
My review
After we had done an end-around on the 45-60 minute line to get through security on a Sunday morning, we made our way through the maze of McCarrann Airport over to the D Terminal and the Centurion Lounge Las Vegas.

While we were eating our breakfast (and commenting on the grammar of the food signs), another guest came in.
The Centurion Lounge Las Vegas Pet Policy
I was completely surprised when she opened up what looked like her purse and out popped a small dog! You can see it if you look closely in the above picture. At first, Carolyn and I just thought this was the oddest thing. Not having pets ourselves (we like to say we have 6 pets :-P) , we’re not as used to being around pets. I can only assume that her dog was traveling with her on the airplane, and our questions were mostly around where does the dog go to the bathroom :-). Yup, we’re bathroom humor kind of people
I was actually curious as to whether dogs were “supposed to” be in the lounge anyways, since I’m not used to seeing non-service animals inside businesses, but I was surprised to see that the Centurion Lounge Las Vegas (and the other Centurion Lounges) actually has a specific pet policy.
Are pets and service animals permitted in The Centurion Lounge?
Service animals are permitted in the Lounge. Animals that are traveling with you in carriers are also permitted, provided they remain in their carriers at all times and do not disrupt other guests.
So technically this dog was violating the policy, since it was out of its carrier, but it wasn’t really a problem. We actually joked that this dog was better behaved than our children!! 🙂
Have you ever flown with a pet, or been on a plane with someone else’s pet? What was your experience like? Let us know in the comments?

I’ve flown many times with my dog but only because he’s a good traveler. In over a dozen trips, he never barked, whined or had an accident. The only time anyone even realized there was a dog in my bag was when they saw his fur hanging out of the air holes- he’s a furry dude. I always follow all the rules though, whether I agree with them or not. As for the bathroom, many airports have “pet relief” stations, McCarrann included:)
That’s cool! I have to say my first reaction was that having a dog in the lounge was totally inappropriate, though the more I read / think about it, the more I don’t think there’s a problem (as long as the dog is well-behaved)
I’ve brought my Yorkie into the Centurion Lounge at DFW as well.
As for bathroom, there’s a pet rest area just a few gates away from that lounge. And I don’t take him on flights long enough that he’d have issues.
